RENO, Nev., Nov. 25 (UPI) — Police said most of the formerly all-night bars on the west side of downtown Reno, Nev., have agreed to close their doors between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Reno Police Chief Michael Poehlman said he asked 15 bars in the area to close for two hours in the early morning to give locals some quiet time and reduce police overtime on weekends, USA Today reported Wednesday.
“Our problem is kind of unique with the number of condos being built down there,” Poehlman said of people living near all-night bars.
Locals said the noise from the always-open bars frequently interferes with their sleep schedules.
